Up close & Personal with Demetria McKinney

Swag Weekly in association with Big Mouth Magazine had a chance to catch up with the lovely Ms Demetria McKinney at the Cascade roller rink in the ATL to support Devine Stephens in association with Hosea Williams feed the hungry. The Beautiful talented diva out of Fort Walton Beach, Florida currently residing in the ATL may well be the most versatile woman in the industry to date. With modeling, acting, singing, song writing and dancing under her belt the sky is the limit for Demetria. Having appeared in numerous projects from play’s such as What’s done in the dark, Madea’s Family Christmas, Church Girls and the latest play “DERANGED” but that’s not it, Miss McKinney can add prime-time to her credit with a role on the hit drama USA’s Necessary Roughness and also a role on T.V. One’s “The Rickey Smiley Show. It all started for Demetria with a role in the play by Tyler Perry Meet the Brown’s that blasted her career into orbit and led her to star opposite Allen Payne on  TBS’s comedy House Of Payne. The past couple of years have been good to Demetria in 2011 she took home two prestigious awards, The Atlanta Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion and Art Award and the Luxe Lifestyle Award as well as been in the company of four consecutive NAACP Image Awards for best sitcom and was nominated for a Prism Award. Acting comes natural for Demetria but she has a first love, singing, sound like a familiar route for another superstar (Jamie Foxx). Demetria known to friends as Dee Dee has a beautiful voice and MOVES to go with it, Demetria stands out because she is an exceptional performer and when you see her live you can tell. Demetria has been spotted performing @ Center stage, ATL Live on the Park as well as For sister’s Only. Riding the wave of her success Demetria has dropped a banging single called “Work with Me” , which is available right now on ITunes, Demetria also has a single called “Still Believe In Love” which she sings alongside the great Musiq Soulchild.
