Real Housewives of Atlanta star Demetria McKinney signed to eOne Records earlier this year, and while we can’t wait to hear the music she’s been creating over the past several weeks, she and everyone at eOne are now mourning the loss of rapper Chinx, who was also signed to the label.
Chinx, a member of French Montana’s Coke Boys rap group, died in a drive-by shooting in Queens, N.Y. in the early hours of May 17. Demetria took to Instagram just a few hours after news of Chinx’s death broke to remember her friend, label mate, and fellow artist.
As you can see in the above snapshot, Demetria and Chinx are posed together at eOne’s New York City offices. The photo was taken the day Demetria formally signed to eOne.
We love that Chinx was there to support his label mate on that very special day and can’t imagine the loss Demetria and everyone at eOne must be feeling right now. Other celebs who shared their sadness over Chinx’s death include Rob Kardashian, music mogul Diddy (who took to Instagram with a photo of him and Chinx enjoying a bowl of Cheerios out in Miami), and Jay Z, who took time out of his B Sides Concert in New York City to pay tribute to the fallen rapper on May 17.
Our thoughts go out to Chinx’s family and friends during this difficult time.
