• “Trial and error has been my best friend and my worst enemy. When I became Natural, it really wasn’t trendy so I didn’t know what to do. On House of Payne, everyone saw me with straight, color-treated hair…so taking the time to develop a relationship with myself—and my hair is important.”

• “I have, like, 97 different curl patterns in my head! [I had to realize] the part that is more straight isn’t less important than the part that is more coily.”
