MIMI caught up with our girl, Demetria McKinney, the multi-talented House of Payne and Real Housewives of Atlanta star, at the Essence Festival in New Orleans. She dished on her top tips for staying beautiful, the products she can't live without, her signature style advice and more:

McKinney knows a thing or two about looking f-i-e-r-c-e, so naturally we were all ears to hear about her beauty secrets and must haves. Her top beauty tip? Sleep. But, she maintains her fabulous appearance by hydrating and moisturizing. When McKinney just wants a simple, minimal look, she throws on concealer and a good brow. Easy breezy.
As for the beauty secret that changed her life? Be conscious of the products you put on your skin, because they are absorbed into your body. If you do that then you are less likely to counteract your beauty regimen with products that are bad for you.
And her signature style— let's not forget that she can seriously shut. it. down. Sometimes crazy, sometimes sexy, always cool, McKinney dresses for how she feels. Now that's something we can get on board with.
